Expedition Overview

Conquer the roof of North Africa on our flagship 2-day guided Toubkal trek. Led by government-licensed High Atlas mountain guides, this journey takes you from the walnut orchards of Imlil to the dramatic stone base refuge, followed by a magical sunrise summit push.

Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech / Imlil to Toubkal Base Refuge (3,207m) - 08:30 AM: Meet guide at Imlil (1,740m) and hand heavy packs to mule team. - Ascend through Armed village, cross the Mizane torrent, and pause for mint tea at the holy shrine of Sidi Chamarouch (2,310m). - Continue steadily up the rocky scree gorge to arrive at Refuge Les Mouflons (3,207m) around 3:30 PM. - Hearty hot Berber tagine dinner and early sleep. Day 2: Pre-dawn Summit Assault (4,167m) & Descent to Imlil - 04:30 AM: Alpine breakfast and headlamp departure. - Ascend the South Col switchbacks under star-filled skies, reaching the summit ridge as dawn breaks. - 08:30 AM: Stand at the iconic triangular summit pyramid of Mount Toubkal (4,167m) with 360-degree views to the Sahara. - Descend to the refuge for hot soup, then continue past Sidi Chamarouch to Imlil by 4:00 PM.

Under Moroccan mountain safety regulations, trekking past designated trailheads (such as Aroumd and Sidi Chamarouch) requires an accredited guide. All our expeditions are personally guided or supervised by certified mountain guides registered with the Royal Moroccan Mountaineering Federation.
